Film & TV On-Camera Acting Classes in New York City that focus exclusively on currently casting material from Film & Television--keep it relevant and current. Work on brand new material every week--learn to prepare effectively. Get on your feet every week--acting is a visceral art form, not visual or auditory. Get on camera every other week--feedback is essential to your craft. When you can audition with confidence you will earn more and more chances to play!

Known for offering some of the best acting classes in New York and Los Angeles, our approach combines professional craft with invaluable career knowledge.

ALEX ROSS

Director GSS New York, Instructor (Film & TV)

Alex Ross is the Director of Graham Shiels Studios’ NYC Campus. Since 2019, actors coaching with Alex have booked across nearly every major television network and signed with top agencies and management companies including KMR and Luber Roklin.

An active performer himself, Alex understands today’s casting landscape and maintains strong relationships with casting professionals from Los Angeles to London. He has worked alongside Academy, Emmy, and Tony Award-winning directors such as Steven Soderbergh, Kenny Leon, and Casey Nicholaw.

His acting credits span TV, film, Broadway, and voiceover, including Logan Lucky, Law & Order: SVU, NCIS: LA, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Book of Mormon (Broadway), and more. Alex holds a degree in vocal performance from Oklahoma City University and continues to work in major motion pictures.

BROOKS BRANTLY

GSS New York, Instructor (Film & TV)

Brooks Brantly is a Morehouse College alum and earned his MFA in Acting from the University of Connecticut. With over fifteen years of experience performing and coaching actors for stage and screen, he brings both craft and industry insight to his work. He is the first recipient of the Kenny Leon Directing Fellowship, an LA Ovation Award nominee, and a NAACP Theatre Award winner.

A former casting associate, Brooks understands what separates habit from true craft and helps actors build work rooted in technique and specificity. As a coach, he has worked with clients ranging from beginners to established industry professionals.

Most recently, Brooks appeared in the Off-Broadway revival of Wine in the Wilderness directed by Tony Award winner LaChanze and is the lead in two feature films releasing this year. His credits include War Horse (1st National Tour), Significant Other (Broadway), Law & Order: SVU, The Goldbergs, and Ghosts.

GRAHAM SHIELS

Founder, Instructor (Film & TV)

Graham Shiels is a Yale School of Drama graduate and working actor with over 20 years of professional experience. He recently wrapped a top-of-show Guest Star role on Special Ops: Lioness (Paramount+).

A sought-after acting coach in Los Angeles, Graham works with Series Regulars and rising talent alike. On screen, he was a Series Regular on Olympus and a recurring Guest Star on 9-1-1: Lone Star, Truth Be Told, True Blood, Arrow, and more. He has booked over 30 network Guest Star roles, including Star Trek: Picard opposite Sir Patrick Stewart.

His film credits include Guardians of the Galaxy, Thor: The Dark World, and Yes Man. His theater work includes The Mark Taper Forum, South Coast Repertory, California Shakespeare Theatre, and Yale Repertory Theatre. Throughout his career, Graham has worked alongside numerous Academy, Tony, and Emmy Award winners.
