About the Teen Workshop
  • Using the overall approach of the Graham Shiels Studio, this 4 day workshop focuses on the overall development of the young professional actor in Hollywood. Students dive deep into improvisation, script analysis, audition technique, scene study and the business of acting.

  • All work is done on-camera and scenes are taken from current television shows and films.

  • Through small class sizes, students receive individualized attention from our teaching artists, with the aim of getting students comfortable with all aspects of the actor’s journey.

  • Culminating the workshop students have the opportunity to showcase their talents to an industry professional (Agent, Manager, or Casting). 

  • This class lays the foundation for the Ongoing Teen Class.

  • Max of 9 students

 

 

WHEN?: Tuesday August 11th to Friday August 14th 10am to 2pm

About the Ongoing Teen Classes
  • Students receive training from currently working actors who understand the current industry landscape, it’s aesthetic, and the requirements asked of young professionals.

  • Nearly identical to its adult counterpart, young actors will be given scenes several days prior to class to prepare.

  • Each week students will alternate between working with a scene partner or “audition style”.

  • Max of 9 students

About The Instructor:

ALEXANDER ROSS

Originally from Great Britain, Alex is well known for his versatility as a performer. He holds a Bachelors in Music from Oklahoma City University, and spent the last year on Broadway as the Standby for Elder Price in the smash hit BOOK OF MORMON. Before his Broadway turn, Alex was a top-of-show Guest Star on NCIS LA, and acted along side Kelli Giddish in Law & Order SVU. He was featured alongside Adam Driver and the star studded cast of Steven Soderbergh’s Logan Lucky, and spent 3 months living on an army base shooting all 8 episodes of the award winning miniseries The Long Road Home for Nat Geo. This fall Alex will be featured on a brand new AppleTV+ series as well as Marvel’s Agents Of SHIELD. Other credits include roles on Revolution (NBC), Queen of the South (USA) , Salvation (Pilot NBC) and Dallas (TNT). Regional highlights include the Tony Award winning Dallas Theater Center where Alex has taken on roles in Sense and Sensibility, Cabaret, A Christmas Carol and Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. As a coach Alex has worked with a variety of young performers and helped them garner coveted roles on network TV, full scholarships to top acting and music programs across the nation and even titles in the Miss America Competition. ​
